About My Clients
My clients are transitional age youth through older adults typically seeking support around concerns with their relationship with food and body. We may also be exploring relational difficulties, mental health concerns such as anxiety or depression and experiences of trauma. If you have been struggling with chronic dieting behaviors and frustrations around body size/shape, therapy is aimed at challenging diet cultured and weight stigmatized beliefs and develop a body neutral stance.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified eating disorder specialist-supervisor- Basically what that means is that I tend to look at things through a relational lens and I have extensive training in eating disorders specifically. I take a client-centered treatment approach and believe that in centering treatment around the client's individual needs. In the room, I try to be real and authentic and shy away from toxic positivity. I believe in working from a Health at Every Size framework, creating a safe space for all bodies and addressing weight stigma and its negative impact on health and wellbeing.
