I have been trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model, which is a biology based approach to working with trauma. PTSD can be the basis of many mental health issues manifesting as other issues, making this an important issue to work through in therapy.
I have been working with LGBT+ individuals since I started being a therapist, and was one of the driving forces in me wanting to be a therapist. I have had many trainings regarding this subject, have sought consultation on many different LGBT+ subjects, and continue to stay abreast regarding new and upcoming situations that are related to the LGBT+ population.
I enjoy working with individuals with anxiety and bring in a body/biology based approach in doing so. I utilize mindfulness as well as restoring confidence in one's self that at times anxiety can take away. Assisting client's in managing one's anxiety and regaining confidence over it is one of my favorite parts about therapy. I also have been trained in utilizing VR to assist folks in working through anxious situations in the comfort of the office.
I have been trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), and I am also a trainer for the Trauma Resiliency Model. This is a biology based model that works with bringing the body back into balance and reconnecting it with the mind. The body remembers traumas that the mind has forgotten, or pushed into the recesses of our minds. The felt sense this model brings back to the individual to regain control over their physical and emotion well being is powerful.
