About My Clients
People can heal from trauma. But you don't have to go it alone. People pleasing, anger, chronic pain, shame, insecurity; just a few ways trauma tends to show itself in your life. When people decide to get curious about how the wounding moments in life have impacted their self-worth and worldview, then healing can occur. Chances are, if you have a negative belief about yourself or the world and it's impacting your happiness, there is a wound from your past that needs attention. I'd like to help.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in treating trauma and all of trauma's unhelpful side effects using methods beyond traditional talk therapy. If you've had limited symptom relief from talking, I encourage you to try something new. I'm an EMDR certified therapist, EMDR consultant in training and Usui Reiki Master. I'm licensed to serve clients in both Ohio and Texas with the honor of providing consultation and supervision to other colleagues in my field. I use EMDR therapy, Expressive Arts, IFS-informed and body-based methods in my trauma-focused work. Trauma impacts our nervous system, storing itself in our cells. My purpose is to help you release that trauma with safety; to help you rediscover your authenticity and live a life with power over your triggers. And I'll provide you with a bunch of tools to take back home with you, too.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have worked with people from all walks of life, serving in a variety of settings: children's hospitals, schools, nursing facilities, services for people with developmental disabilities, mental health facilities, directly in homes, homeless shelters, public housing, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. I've found one universal truth amongst all people that I meet: People long for connection, safety and support. And all people have experienced pain in the pursuit of that connection. Wherever you are in this moment- I will meet you where you are in life. All faiths welcome. All genders welcome. All people welcome. It is of utmost importance to me that you leave your session feeling seen, heard, and valued for the truly unique, worthy and deserving person that you are. You can borrow the compassion I give you while learning to give yourself some grace and compassion of your own. It truly is an honor when people invite me into their world and give me permission to hear their story.
