About My Clients

Do you feel haunted by something from the past or present? Maybe you have been bullied or abused, or are in a toxic workplace, or are grieving someone or something. Perhaps you're going through something that others don't seem to understand. Maybe you even blame yourself - "maybe this wouldn't have happened if I had __ instead" or "something must be wrong with me." I've been there, and I'm passionate about helping you through this so you can enjoy peace, contentment, and growth.

My Background and Approach

I became passionate about therapy through my own history of hardships, and a desire to help others find healing and growth like I did. I have about 6 years of clinical experience between volunteering as a crisis hotline counselor and trauma-focused support group facilitator, and providing individual and group therapy at my internships in my Master of Social Work program. I am humorous and endearingly quirky at times, laid-back, and collaborative in my approach. I work with my clients to tailor therapy to their needs, interests, strengths, and preferred pace. I'm also more than happy to apply therapeutic concepts creatively if you're interested; I've been known to offer power poses, a cute goat video, and self-massage as mindfulness activities, and have taught skills through fun theatre games! (Again, only if you're interested in comfortable!) I am gentle and affirming, while I simultaneously help you challenge your thinking patterns that are not currently serving you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I strongly believe that all trauma is trauma, and all grief is grief. For instance, trauma from interpersonal events like bullying and toxic workplaces is real trauma, even if our society doesn't often recognize this. Non-human loss is still loss that can cause big feelings of grief. Our society often shies away from grief of a friend or loved one who died by suicide or murder. If your experiences are being devalued, I am here for you.
