About My Clients
It's difficult for me to conceptualize my "ideal client" because I see everyone as unique regardless of what a diagnosis or set of experiences might say. I specialize in work with Autistic/Neurodivergent folx, trauma, and creatives (musicians, artists, actors, authors, and more!), but that's not necessarily representative of who I serve across the board. If you're looking to heal, learn, and grow as an individual, couple unit, family unit, or group, I can help!
My Background and Approach
I work from a client-centered, humanistic approach with a deep belief it is my responsibility to hear the story of the person sitting in front of me. Based on the goals you have for therapy, I will listen and problem-solve with you around that. I also provide creative approaches and outlets such as music therapy, play therapy, and expressive arts therapy as a board-certified music therapist and a play therapist completing requirements for registration. I am creative in my approach to couples, family, and group therapy as well -- the fun stuff doesn't just have to happen in individual therapy! I have worked in numerous mental health settings including inpatient psych, intensive outpatient psych, and private practice so I am well-versed in providing care at many levels and to a range of diagnoses. I am comfortable and inclined to take an interdisciplinary approach working with prescribers, case managers, other providers, and teachers to support my clients in the most efficacious ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As I have mentioned, I am AuDHD and I heavily subscribe to the Neurodiversity movement, Autism advocacy, and the Disability Rights and Justice movement. I am trauma-informed in all my approaches and I especially consider internalized and microaggressed ableism. We also have an economic justice initiative at Creative Remedies which includes a complimentary intake (initial session) with any or all of our therapists so you can determine which service and provider best meets your needs. We also work on a pay-what-you-can model and we do not turn people away based on financial need. As a member of the LGBTQ+ and poly communities (cisgender, omni-romantic, demisexual, poly), I feel strongly that romanticism, sexuality, gender, and relationship styles are major aspects of our attachment and identity as well. Suicide is a topic that I do not shy away from as I believe this perpetuates the stigma. I will discuss this at length to get a clear picture of what meaning it holds in your life.
