About My Clients
People looking for support unpacking their personal history and societal influences on self-worth tend to appreciate my trauma-informed lens to therapy - we don't end up suffering because we are bad people or not "doing the right thing," we end up suffering because somewhere along the way we accumulated layers of oppression and trauma. Trauma has many forms, and not all are obvious or validated by the world even though they can have lasting impacts on how we view and care for ourselves.
My Background and Approach
I completed a three year master's degree at Bastyr University in psychology and nutrition. In addition to being a licensed counselor, I am also a certified nutritionist in the state of Washington. My dual degree and training in both physical and psychological sciences lends itself to a holistic approach to your care. I am a Certified Body Trust Provider through the Be Nourished training institute, with specialized training around anti-diet culture and fat affirming practices. I am in the process of becoming certified in EMDR, as well as working towards a Perinatal Mental Health Certification through Postpartum Support International. I am particularly drawn to work with members of the LGBTQ+ community around matters pertaining to sexual and gender identity, reproductive health, fertility, conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting young children.
