About My Clients
I work with clients ages 21 to 55, with a heavy focus on folks who are BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+. My ideal clients are folks intent on addressing an old pattern (or patterns) that no longer serve them – for example you might struggle to advocate for your needs in relationships or at work, or find yourself frustrated with codependent family dynamics. Your experiences may or may not intersect with themes of systemic oppression, chronic pain, caretaking, grief, anxiety, and depression.
My Background and Approach
In sessions, I support clients in self-exploration and acceptance, identifying what matters most to them, and supporting them in making changes that reflect goals set. Overall I hope to connect clients to their own experiences through awareness of self, mind and body. I draw from several evidenced based practices (not limited to DBT, EMDR, and solution focused therapy), and work from a trauma informed approach.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice as a therapist is informed by the many identities that I hold. I identify as a black, cisgender, bisexual woman. I believe that intersectionality is a key and fundamental piece of a helpful and positive therapeutic experience. I choose to uplift the voices of oppressed peoples whenever possible and believe that none of us can truly experience freedom until we all have our needs met.
