About My Clients

My clients are those that want to better themselves in some way, but are not quite sure what they want or how to get there. I love working with those that are making major life transitions, such as going to college, getting a new job, moving to a new location, changing a relationship status, etc. Sometimes when we feel stuck in a particular position, our potential gets stuck with us. I love working with eager folks that are ready to start confronting their anxieties in life.

My Background and Approach

I began my journey back in childhood with my own struggles. When I went off to college, I was interested in psychology and got the opportunity to work an internship at a Residential Addiction Treatment Facility for Adolescent Males for about two years prior to starting my Master's program in Counseling. Moving from a residential facility into a private practice setting, I have seen a range of level of care as well as clients I've worked with. I've seen everyone from a 12-year-old boy struggling with generational addiction to a mid-20's queer individual coping with trauma to a grieving 70-year-old widow. We all struggle with something at some point. Being able to walk the life I've lived and gain the experiences that I have with the individuals I have had the pleasure of working with has not only helped to broaden my scope, but to connect more to the aspects that tie us all together. This has led me to be able to adapt my work to whatever you may need in the counseling room.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone has infinite value and worth. I am an LGBTQ+ ally. I stand with all the BIPOC persons fighting for equality. I believe everyone should have equal rights and access to mental health care, which is why I currently volunteer at Capital Area Counseling, a nonprofit organization for accessible mental health services. I am also currently looking into volunteer work with my local animal shelter to provide support and comfort to animals waiting to be adopted.
