Mindfulness can help us to experience life in a different way. This shift in perspective can help us to reexamine our relationship to our own suffering.
As a Highly Sensitive Person, you may have struggled to feel understood by others. I want to provide you with the experience of feeling truly heard.
Sometimes the burdens of life can feel too heavy to bear. I endeavor to help relieve the weight of depression by providing my clients with compassionate witness.
During my graduate studies I immersed myself in coursework related to object relations. I value the theory and approaches refined by the intellectual descendants of Sigmund Freud. During my traineeship, I was supervised by a highly experienced clinician who considered her approach to be informed by object relations theory. I continue to pursue education through the Oregon Psychoanalytic Center.
I take inspiration from the works of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, and those who have followed in their footsteps. I believe that communication with the unconscious mind through dreamwork and active imagination can help us to access the wisdom of our inner depths. I continue to pursue education in depth psychology through the Oregon Psychoanalytic Center, Oregon Friends of Jung, Pacific Northwest Society of Jungian Analysts, and the Salome Institute of Jungian Studies.
I am a certified teacher of The Realization Process, an embodied path to spiritual awakening, personal growth, and healing created by Judith Blackstone.
I believe that it is important for men to reexamine the standards of masculinity that have been put forth by our cultures. I offer a non-judgmental space for male-identified persons to process their feelings regarding their place in a changing world. I take inspiration from Robert Bly, Joseph Campbell, Robert A. Johnson, and the mythopoetic men's movement.
I have years of experience practicing various meditation techniques. I am a certified teacher of The Realization Process, an embodied path to spiritual awakening, personal growth, and healing created by Judith Blackstone. I welcome clients to explore the connection between their spirituality and their healing journey in therapy.
I completed my initial training as the first male to offer therapy at the YWCA Silicon Valley Domestic Violence Support Network. I have since worked extensively with youth who have immigrated from Latin America seeking safety. My work with survivors of trauma has informed my perspective on how to help clients heal from difficult experiences and find a path forward. I am trained in somatic techniques that are intended to help process trauma through awareness of the body.
