About My Clients
The majority of my clients are adults (ages 20-55), working professionals, struggling with mood issues, anxiety, work/life balance, substance misuse, relationship problems, and those looking to get more out of their life.
My Background and Approach
I have extensive work in community mental health settings before venturing off to start my own private practice in 2014. I offer a safe place to explore the current issues that are bringing you into therapy. I believe the therapy process works best when it is collaborative, non-judgmental, and empathetic. No matter whether your struggles are newer or longer lasting I aim to fully understand your issues and join you in the process for healing and recovery. It is my goal that you will feel heard, understood, valued, and empowered in order to improve your life, health, and strengthen your relationships. My areas of expertise include the treatment of depression, relationship concerns, anxiety, life transitions, coping with stress, spiritual/existential issues, and achieving work/life balance. I work with you to strengthen relationships, learn to develop/utilize effective coping strategies, identify and change unhealthy patterns of behavior.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a secular person who remains curious about others religious and spiritual beliefs. I strive to support others in their pursuit of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and their ability to express themselves and who they are. I continue to work to understand that my perspective is shaped by the culture I was raised in and live in, and that came with numerous advantages that are not equally shared by all. I consider myself an ally of marginalized groups, and strive to treat others with kindness and sensitivity.
