About My Clients
I truly believe the journey you are on is far greater than the season you are walking through. Adjusting to life in a post pandemic world has left many learning to cope with the unknown; unknown stress, unknown career paths, unknown relationships, unknown trauma, unknown sense of self. Sometimes these unknowns cause increased anxiety, depressive states, low self esteem, stress in relationships and loss of direction. You are capable of embracing the unknowns to build your new life.
My Background and Approach
In my practice, I have learned the answer for one is not the answer for all. We will work together utilizing narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, trauma focused therapy or mindfulness practices to unlock your full potential. We will focus on the whole person to make sustainable and life improving changes. I have utilized individual, family, couple and group therapy to assist my clients in meeting their goals. I have a wide range of expertise including Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Personality Disorders, Psychosis, Low Self Esteem, Self Harm, Developmental Disabilities and Autism Spectrum.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs has shaped areas of my practice in that I believe each individual deserves to have access to supports systems that empower them to live their most authentic and centered life. This includes providing a safe and non-judgmental environment for you to work through trauma, triggers and build accessible, life long coping skills. I believe that while past experiences my shape your worldview or responses to stress in your life, we have to address present issues before we can re-visit the past. I believe therapy should also assist you in resource acquisition if needed. Personally, I identify as an ally for social justice causes. I have attended protests and rallies in support of marriage equality, black lives matter, women's rights and voting rights. I'm an active advocate for these and other progressive issues. I'm a member of the National Association of Social Workers and seek out opportunities to improve my knowledge, understanding and cultural competency.
