About My Clients
I have worked with a myriad of issues and people over the past 30 years, including those experiencing severe and chronic mental health problems including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, major depression, and anxiety. Often, the common thread among all of these issues is trauma. I have special interest in working with those seeking to heal from trauma, anger management, dissociative disorders, adjustment disorders, parenting/life transition issues, and grief and loss issues.
My Background and Approach
My primary modality and treatment approach is currently EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy. I also utilize skills and strategies from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). I adapt my approach to best meet your needs, and am fluid in my application of these strategies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is important to first explore and understand what we've been through in life in order to be able to address how we want to change and improve our lives. Often the events that impact us may not be understood as traumas, which can affect our management of them and our ability to heal. Whether your experiences involve single event trauma (like a car accident), complex trauma (years of repeated abuse/neglect), signifcant loss or intergenerational trauma (harmful patterns handed down from one generation to the next, I am here to help you on your journey to greater understanding and healing.
