About My Clients
Have you experienced childhood abuse (emotional, verbal, physical, sexual, spiritual)? Are you an adult who dissociates at any level? I specialize in trauma recovery. I can help you on this very delicate journey to healing. This process takes care, time, and someone who understands the importance of the process to help you heal. I help you overcome obstacles that have you stuck so you can move forward. I see adult clients who are looking to heal and are open to exploring childhood trauma.
My Background and Approach
I utilize virtual EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy through a secure online platform called SimplePractice. Online therapy allows for convenience in a safe and secure location. As a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, I can provide you with treatment anywhere in PA or NJ. I am EMDR certified by EMDRIA, the governing body of EMDR. I am also certified in Dissociative Disorders through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness. If you are open to non-traditional healing, I am your therapist. My approach is the opposite of one size fits all. I am also certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). “The NCC demonstrates your continued commitment to high standards of counseling and helps support advocacy efforts for the counseling profession.” [NBCC.org, 2030]
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Yoga is medicine. I use my yoga training as a tool to assist my clients in their healing journey. Yoga is more than just movements; it's also a practice of mindfulness, breath work, nourishing our bodies, and connecting with our innate spirit. As therapists, we have a responsibility to do our healing. How can we help others without exploring this process for ourselves? I have an EMDR therapist I work with, so I know how anxiety-provoking the process of healing can be. It involves the courage to share truths that possibly only you know. I understand this relationship is sacred. I may be the only person who knows what scares you. Lastly, I am an advocate. It started when I was 13, and I participated in an AIDS walk in Arizona for a friend. From that day, I knew it meant a lot to fight for marginalized people. I have many more dimensions to me and I will incorporate them as we work together.
