I get what you’re going through. Believe me, I’ve been there. I also know there are ways out of this suffering — ways that are hard to find on your own — and that finding the right therapist can make all the difference.
If you’re like most people who work with me, your inner critic is so loud and persistent you can’t hear any of the other voices in your head, and you miss out on the wisdom and compassion that is in there somewhere (it’s in everyone!). I help you slow down so you can listen to all the parts of you, so you can deeply understand yourself, identify your real goals in life, and learn how to treat yourself with the warmth, love, and compassion you have for your friends and family.
I use a variety of mindfulness-based approaches in my work as a therapist, primarily Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). I also incorporate visual arts, CBT, wisdom from mindfulness meditation practices, and cutting-edge research into neurobiology into therapy.
