About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients who feel "othered" in this world, and who are curious to learn how to get out of their heads and into their bodies. Some of my specialties are: Trauma (PTSD/CPTSD); Attachment Wounds; Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, SPD, etc); Dissociation & DID; Peripartum Issues; First Gen American Issues; BIPOC; LGBTQ+; Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT); Med Consults.
My Background and Approach
As always, your goals are always top priority when you’re seeking support. I’m here to provide a non-judgmental, supportive space for any and all things you are seeking to work through. I believe that the brain and body are inseparably connected. We cannot treat one without the other, therefore, I prefer somatic and experiential modes of therapy such as mindfulness, somatic experiencing, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), sensorimotor therapy, Trauma-informed stabilization treatment (TIST) trauma-informed yoga, etc. I am trained in EMDR and certified in Ketamine assisted therapy (KAT), and the trauma-conscious yoga method (TCYM). Right now, I am training in TIST and doing a trauma-informed yoga teacher training. I also bring 5 years of psychiatric experience as a Physician Assistant (medical provider) in adult mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My experience working as a P.A. and as a therapist has positively shaped the way I practice. I want you to be at the center of your care and in charge of making decisions around the life issues that are affecting you the most. I aim to empower you and for you to feel informed about your mental and psychiatric health decisions, and I plan to partner with you so that you can be successful in reaching your goals. My name is Anna, and I’ve lived in Austin, TX for over eight years. I am a neurodivergent, black, first-generation American woman, who has spent years working through and understanding her own brain, mental health struggles, and intersectionality. I am a psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA), psychotherapist, and neurodivergent coach. I eat, sleep, and drink psychology! For fun I love to read, listen to podcasts, learn tarot, take naps, drink Chai lattes, explore my city with my kids, get cozy at coffee shops, watch spooky stuff, and meet up with friends.
