About My Clients
I have a passion for working with adolescent, young adult and adult individuals who need assistance with navigating life transitions, depression, anxiety, learning disabilities, and sexuality. Figuring out one's path can be difficult, however it is my mission to help clients along this journey. It is my duty to be a positive support for all those seeking therapy. I will assist those without judgement or discrimination.
My Background and Approach
I have trained experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person Centered and Strength based approaches and assisting in interpersonal goals. I am able to assist with many of life's situations and help those who are dealing with identity questions, racial discrimination, difficulties with learning disabilities and mood disorders. I graduated from Michigan State University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies in 2017. I graduated December 2021 from Arizona State University with a Master’s in Social Work. Although I am a newly appointed therapist, I have had experience in case management with homeless individuals as well as children in foster care, conducting Applied Behavior Analysis therapy with children on the spectrum, mentoring with students with disabilities and at-risk youth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an individual who identifies within the LGBTQ community, a Feminist, and Asian American; I understand the many facets of the human experience. I am also a transracial adoptee and can help individuals who struggle with self-identity. I have championed human rights movements such as those in the Black Lives Matter and Asian American communities. I have interned at NOAH (Networking, Organizing, and Advocating for the Homeless) Project and Alternatives for Girls in Detroit. While in undergrad at Michigan State University, I was head of APIA Vote Project with the Asian Pacific American Student Organization, Public Relations of Somewhere In Between Adoptee’s Club and Vice President of MSU POINT Community Service Club. I was also a student mentor and created a focus group for students with disabilities. Advocating for human and social service is always at the forefront of my career and personal life. I hope to continue serving anyone who may be in need.
