I truly believe that healing, growth, and change do not occur in a vacuum, and my approach to therapy recognizes this and the importance of meeting client’s where they are and understanding the systemic and cultural influences in their lives. As an Iranian American, and daughter of an immigrant, I value the nuanced spaces of our identities that exist. I believe that holding space for these layers is necessary for our healing individually and collectively. My hope is to provide a space for my clients to explore elements of identity in their own lives – further encouraging their own agency and capacity to feel empowered. Every individual is an expert in their own lives. They know their own processes, and when they are ready to dig deeper, soften, and grow.
I work from a holistic perspective including incorporating mindfulness, attachment theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic principles, somatic based practices and emotion focused therapy.
