About My Clients

I work really well with anxious people with big hearts who tend to get burned out by the hamster wheel of perfectionism and people pleasing. It's exhausting to feel not good enough all the time and endlessly try to soothe that worried part of you that can't seem to get on top of everything that needs to be done.

My Background and Approach

My therapy approach is aimed at helping you let go of past mistakes and difficult experiences, build a soothing and kinder inner voice, and create a life worth living. I'm a collaborative, engaged therapist - I'm not that stereotypical passive therapist you may have seen on tv that repeats "say more about that" on a loop. (Ok, occasionally I might say that - but only if there really is something we need to dig deeper on for the purpose of getting you to that fulfilling life you want!) Credentials-wise, I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. My undergraduate degree is from Rice University and my graduate degree is from University of Houston. I have advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

My Values as a Therapist

I began my work as a counselor because I wanted to help reduce suffering in the world. As I learn and grow in this field, I have come to recognize that change on the individual level is not enough. For me, this means alongside my individual work as a counselor to help people live better lives, I also am passionate about dismantling oppressive systems that perpetuate trauma and distress. Some specific areas I care about are racial justice, body liberation, affirming neurodiversity, gender equity, and LGBTQ+ rights. I realize as a white cishet woman I have plenty of blind spots and inner work to do, and so I'm committed to a lifelong process of unlearning and learning. I also believe in making therapy accessible to all, and so I participate in the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective, offering several reduced rate spots to clients who need it.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
I have experience with the following
  • Atheism
  • Christianity
