About My Clients
I create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for individuals from all walks of life, I primarily work with adolescents and adults many of who are entering new stages of their life or just looking for that added support. I have specialized training in substance use disorders, eating disorders, gender, and sexuality.
My Background and Approach
I have made the focus of my education and professional journey to develop the skills and tools to create a therapeutic atmosphere that is client-centered. I meet my clients where they are at and let them be the captain of their own ship going at a pace that will best support their growth and journey through the therapeutic process. I seek out trainings to ensure I am up to date with all the best practices and approaches for my clients. I mainly utilize a strength-based, humanistic approach with my clients and like to refer to myself as their biggest cheerleader. I am here to act as a guide and resource for my clients as they walk through the journey of life and experience the up, the downs, and the loop-de-loops that come along with it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is doing the very best with what they are given each and every day, and that each person in the world has the ability to change what doing their best entails. I believe that we as humans learn how to interact with the world and cope with strong emotions and feelings through the environment around us. This can cause the continuation of an unhealthy relationship with food, the use of substances to numb, or negative self-talk when someone's identity falls outside of what is considered normal. I believe that everyone deserves to have a supportive "family" around them whether that is biological or self-made I believe everyone needs their tribe. I am a strong supporter of inclusion and believe that everyone should experience representation I often take part in marches and community actions that support that ideology.
