About My Clients
Perhaps you have a hard time saying no and are afraid if you speak up others will respond poorly. You might feel overwhelmed and like you have no time to care for yourself because you are so busy doing everything else. You find yourself being your own worst critic and often beat yourself up. These things lead to feelings of anxiety, sadness, and disconnection. Therapy can help you break out of this pattern and help you find a better balance. I specialize in helping women find this balance.
My Background and Approach
I believe therapy is best approached as a collaboration between my clients and myself. While many believe it is my job to make decisions for them, my goal is to help empower you to make the decisions that are best for you and your life. Therapy with me often involves digging into past experiences and limiting beliefs that hold you back. Acceptance and a compassionate, mindful stance are key in doing this work. Rediscovering your voice, trusting yourself, and knowing you are enough just as you are, helps free you to feel more connected to both yourself and others. This connection can then help you create a life you love and do the things that matter to you. I can help you get to a place where you feel confident in yourself again and believe in your own worth. I am often described as practical and will give you specific skills and tools to work into your life. My clients often say I take an active approach and help them to stay focused.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
After a challenging period during high school, I knew I wanted to help others. Early on I had a passion for women's issues. This passion only continued to grow during my training and I sought experiences specifically in these areas. Through my training and work I have also developed a passion and expertise in trauma work. A continual growth area for me is learning about how to fight against various inequalities and this is an area I’m passionate about as I believe everyone is equal and should be treated as such. I have participated in various marches and pride parades and seek out books and other sources from voices different than my own. Please note I can serve clients in any of the psycpact states-- https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap
