Self-esteem. Sexual trauma. Attachment trauma. Being a woman coping with patriarchy. Relationship challenges. Generally being a more badass empowered you.
I support folks who are not having the fulfilling sex lives they want or imagine is possible for a number of reasons. Have you or your partner ever experienced dissassociation during sex? This can be a scary experience for everyone involved and often is so overwhelming as to cause couples and individuals to shy away from sex afterwards. Physical pain, shame, and past trauma are other reasons that can cause people to be disconnected from their bodies and pleasure. This is where sex therapy helps.
Early on in life we all learn from how available and attuned our caregivers are to our needs about our how best to get these needs met. Latter on in adulthood the strategies you learned early on inform your attachment style. You will use the same strategies you learned early on in your close relationships to get your needs met. Sometimes this is effective sometimes it is not. But through understanding yourself in this way you can learn to find and create more safety in your relationships.
I recognize the connection between, mind, body and spirit and that working in any one of these realms means were working on all of them. Through mindfulness will explore the wisdom of your body as a gateway to your emotions and the wealth of information about yourself that sometimes the mind can obscure.
