About My Clients
My clients ideally come from all sorts of backgrounds and historically even make up many traditionally underserved populations. I particularly enjoy helping other people through their mental health challenges with anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Although I am able to help people of all ages, I usually concentrate on adults. I also have significant experience working with addiction.
My Background and Approach
My theoretical orientation is to take a psychodynamic approach. It is a throwback to the foundations of psychology and it’s pioneering forefather, Sigmund Freud. I have a specialty in DBT certification as well as Resiliency training. I am also able to offer EMDR. The Master’s education I received help me better understand and practice what is called trauma-informed care. This recognizes the lifelong impact of dealing with difficult emotions and how it can exacerbate problems in later life if left unchecked. I also have an additional Master’s degree in Philosophy, and enjoy understanding not only individual dynamics, but those on a social level as well.
