About My Clients
Have you overcome many challenges in life but still struggle to get through the day? Are the highs soaringly high and the lows abysmal at best? My superpower is resiliency and I believe the queer community is uniquely empowered to overcome challenges like no others. It is apparent in our very existence in this often hate-filled world. When you are ready to power up and take control of your life again let me know and I would love to chat and see if I can serve your life vision, or discover it.
My Background and Approach
As a clinical mental health therapist specializing in serving my LGBTQIA+ community, my expertise is rooted in a blend of academic excellence and extensive lived, practical experience. I hold a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have specialized training that understands the unique challenges and strengths of my queer peers. My experience spans many decades of lived experience combined with my clinical practice, during which I've worked and offered leadership in diverse settings like private practice, community mental health centers, and LGBTQ+ organizations. I specialize in areas such as identity development, overcoming discrimination and minority stress, relationship issues, and mental health challenges like anxiety and depression. I am committed to a practice that is not only inclusive but also actively affirms and supports all queer identities. Just be you and ready to grow into all you can be.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that resilience, especially within my queer peer community, is truly a superpower. I have learned both personally and professionally that resilience isn't just about bouncing back from challenges; it's a transformative process that fosters empowerment, strength, and growth. Queer individuals often navigate a world that may not fully accept or understand us, facing unique stressors like discrimination, social stigma, and identity struggles. Resilience in this context is about more than endurance; it's about harnessing these experiences to build a stronger sense of self and community! It involves developing coping strategies, finding supportive networks, and often, engaging in the act of self-discovery and affirmation. This resilience is a testament to the extraordinary capacity of individuals to not only survive but thrive in the face of adversity, making it a true superpower in the journey towards mental health and well-being.
