My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and certified counselor supervisor in the state of Idaho & a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon. I received my Master’s degree in Counseling from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas and my Bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I utilize an integrative approach of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness techniques. I provide education on what each of my techniques are and how they have been shown to help through research.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My foundational approach to therapy is through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT puts your values first. All people will find themselves struggling at some point in their lives (I know I have). Negative thoughts and beliefs tend to takeover our best selves. By working through these negative thoughts and beliefs, while ensuring our behaviors are aligned with our values, we can overcome being stuck in one mode and return to living our best lives. I have a supreme appreciation for all lifestyles and I don't discriminate against anyone. I make it a point to support people of all cultures and backgrounds.
