About My Clients
Survivors of trauma and difficult childhoods can be stuck in states of anxiety, depression or shame, have unusual medical or sleep issues, and may not even remember what caused it. Focus issues, low self-esteem/assertiveness and problems trusting are also common. If this is you, know there is a way out. We'll first establish a safe relationship and help you reconnect to the peace and strength in your body. At your own pace, we'll address unresolved trauma and childhood wounds.
My Background and Approach
We'll identify and practice activities that help you feel calm, confident and in control. We’ll become aware of the signs of unresolved trauma being communicated through your body and guide the body to resolution. I'll support and coach you as you break free from self-limitation. If you're My approach draws on trauma-informed, body-based talk therapy and expands your awareness of both your present moment experience as well as the oppressive forces that have taken away your sense of safety, worthiness and belonging just as you are. We will collaborate together to develop a set of tools and practices to help you return to a sense of secure embodiment and increase your resilience to navigate life's challenges. I approach my work with care, empathy, acceptance and a splash of playfulness. I am dedicated to learning from my clients and tailoring therapy to fit their unique strengths and preferences. Rather than offering answers, I offer a partnership to uncover your own power and truth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I've struggled with my own unresolved trauma and childhood problems and know the vast spiderweb of mental, emotional, physical, financial and social effects that these wounds cause. Through seeing the results of my own healing, I've become passionate about helping others. In 2018, I left a career in software engineering at Microsoft to pursue this passion and today I feel excited and fortunate to be serving in this way. I’ve been a regular meditator, journaler and spiritual seeker since 2012 - this self-work (in addition to my own therapy) has greatly enhanced my ability to serve clients and be non-judgmentally present with whatever is in the room. I see myself as a playful, genuine, funny, caring and creative person who enjoys time with loved ones, music, dancing, nature, and photography.
