When we’ve experienced events in our lives that cause significant distress it can be hard to remember that we’re worth continuing to care for ourselves and asking for help. Our emotions can feel so big that they take over and we feel powerless in our own decisions. The fact that you’re here and reading this tells me you’re ready to try something different.
My Background and Approach
Many of my clients are struggling to cope with trauma, distress, and relationships. I work with clients to find ways to navigate these challenges through using acceptance and commitment therapy(ACT), skills from dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and other therapeutic approaches such as narrative and existential therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all deserve the chance for growing and learning to feel our emotions safely. I consider therapy to be a process where I guide clients on discovering and using strengths they already possess but maybe haven’t realized yet. To me, this process is collaborative and my job is to provide a safe space for you to process through barriers so that outside of our sessions you feel confident on how to navigate distressing situations.
