About My Clients

Embarking on a journey of self-discovery is rarely easy, and often it’s pain that pushes us to seek answers. You may find yourself here because you're frequently overwhelmed, anxious, or triggered, feeling disconnected from your body as if it’s working against you. Perhaps you have past experiences that you try to push away, yet they continue to resurface. Or maybe you've encountered the word “trauma,” and it stirred something deep within you.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic approach is rooted in a feminist and relational style that aims to individualize your treatment to your specific needs. The focus is on how you engage in relationships—with me, with others, and most importantly, with yourself. We will explore how your past, including your relationships, informs your present.I believe that since harm often occurs in relationships, healing can also be found in them. Through the therapeutic relationship we build, we can imagine new, healthier ways of relating to yourself and others, opening the door to deeper fulfillment and meaning in your life. I always seek to provide a safe, supportive, and neurodivergent-affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming space for each client. I use an eclectic mix of trauma-informed modalities including somatic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-informed therapy, intuitive eating counseling, and mindfulness-based stress reduction.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I recognize that I hold white, middle class and cisgendered privilege. I also currently hold size privilege, although I did live for many years in a much larger body. These important aspects of my identity have shaped my life experiences and impact the ways in which I practice therapy, as well as the social justice lens I have from my undergraduate specialized coursework on the intersectionality between gender, race, and class. Due to my own experiences with things like sexism, ableism, and sizeism, I don’t shy away from these topics as they come up in therapy—I know they impact our mental wellness and ignoring them can further harm marginalized people. I am openly liberal, staunchly anti-racist, and against bigotry in all forms. I aim to warmly embrace and affirm your diverse identity, including sexual orientation, gender identity, neurotype, ethnicity, race, ability, and class.
