About My Clients
I specialize in work with LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, adolescents, new adults, and people who identify as or were socialized as women. I enjoy working with individuals who are striving to gain insight into themselves and learn ways to manage presenting symptoms.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is a vulnerable process and I want to honor your vulnerability by creating a space in which you feel comfortable. The therapeutic relationships is incredibly important and necessary for lasting change and growth. In addition to helping you with whatever you are struggling with, I want you to feel seen, feel known, and know you matter. I want to help you find and attend to the core of what concerns you, not just treat the symptoms. Being a holistically healthy individual means you are caring for all parts of yourself: your mental health, your physical health, your relational health, and your emotional health. If one of these aspects of who you are is unhealthy, it affects the others. As we work together, we will approach your mental health form both ends - you will learn techniques to manage the symptom presenting and aim to resolve core issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe who we are as a person is comprised of everything we have seen, felt, believed, and experienced, as well as what we have taken in or inherited from our family's experiences. It is all part of our individual story. This means it is often necessary to look back through your story, your life, your development, to gain understanding of how you became who you are at present. This is also how we can inform and shape who we become. I believe everyone should be able to exist as they are. I believe truly listening to people expands understanding and increases empathy. I believe in the power of community.
