About My Clients
You feel misunderstood and unheard. College/work stresses you out, family conflict makes you anxious, and sometimes things feel impossible. As a young adult, you feel a weight on your shoulders. You’ve got people telling you what to do and trying to run your life. You’re confused and overwhelmed. You’re at this awkward stage, where you’re technically an adult but maybe you don’t feel ready for all of the responsibilities of adulthood.
My Approach to Helping
Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all kind of garment. Successful therapy has to be tailored to fit each and every individual client. This is my speciality. I utilize an ‘eclectic approach.’ Meaning, that I use all of my therapeutic knowledge to work in a manner that best fits you. I want to know you and understand how you learn and heal best. Therapy should be a collaboration. You’re the expert of your life and I’m the mental health professional. Together, we can create meaningful change. That being said, two areas that I focus on with most of my clients, include increasing emotional intelligence and the use of coping skills. We often aren’t taught that having emotions is okay. So, we suppress them and never truly learn how to handle the big, overwhelming feelings. I can help with that. I’ll teach you how to name, validate, and regulate those big emotions.
My Values as a Therapist
I believe that you hold the power to heal yourself and live your best life, but maybe you need a little help to access that power. Sometimes, our past (or this current pandemic) hinders us from unlocking our full potential. Maybe you’ve just left home, started a new job, or are overwhelmed with anxiety, stress, and depression. I hear you and want to help. To learn more or contact me, please feel free to visit my website, send me an email, or find me on instagram @strivetherapywa. If I seem like a good fit, reach out! I’d love to work with you.
