About My Clients
If you identify as LGBTQIA+, femme, and/ or a person of color you may be facing obstacles or concerns in your life that are heavy on your mind. The weight of college studies and personal worries may be leaving you feeling sad, frustrated, afraid or even angry. It may feel bigger than what you have time for right now, causing you to hold back when you want to say something. Most of my clients are working on management of anxiety, depression, and even suicidal ideation.
My Background and Approach
I have traveled in previous work to provide a helping hand in times of crisis and also travel abroad in my free time. I understand differences across many cultures and use a multicultural approach. My deepest passion is centered around matters of the heart and I create building blocks toward a healing trifecta of emotional energy exchange through talk therapy, yoga and reiki therapy. As a strength-based therapist, I specialize in human sexuality, grief / trauma, and depression/suicide. I use techniques and tools derived from different modalities to aid clients in achieving their goals, including but not limited to Feminist, Culturally Sensitive and Multicultural, Adlerian, Existential, Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), Person Centered, Reiki Energy Healing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), career counseling, yoga and mindfulness techniques.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have learned sadness and anger are not less than any other emotion, they are actually a very important part of who we are when we can accept and embrace them within us. I became a therapist to hold a space for those seeking to build a foundation of wholeness, including all feelings. I believe we can love our entire selves, mind, body and emotions.
