Avoidance is the enemy for anxiety! I provide ERP or exposure response prevention to gradually help clients face their fears. This is done in a slow and systematic way knowing that avoiding what makes us anxious only works in the short term. ERP is good for clients with: Social Anxiety Disorder, Phobias (really of any kind), OCD, and even for people with perfectionistic tendencies/ personalities. It is some of my favorite work to do and I have seen amazing results!
DBT or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy emphasizes a set of skills related to: -Emotion Regulation -Distress Tolerance -Mindfulness -Interpersonal Effectiveness. DBT could really benefit everyone! Research shows it great for clients who experience: instability with mood, behavior, thinking, self image, and relationships.
CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is aimed at assisting a client change the way they think which therefore impacts how they feel and behave. CBT helps clients identify errors in their thinking and find more accurate or helpful ways to view situations. CBT can help with an array of difficulties including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, panic, anger, phobias, insomnia, relationship problems, stress. This is my most common work.
Struggling with anxiety related to social interactions can be so hard and very debilitating. But it is extremely treatable! I utilized exposure response prevention alongside dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to assist clients in being able to feel more peace interacting with others.
Depression can be so hard.. sometimes just hard to get out of bed in the morning. I understand because I have been through it myself. Sessions with me aim at taking baby steps to identify ways to decrease depression and find joy in life again.
I treat anxiety disorders of all kind. I have found that anxiety is almost like a little gremlin that sits on our shoulders and whispers lies into our ears. It can make us feel that there is no way out or we have no way to improve our situation. This is not true! Together we will find the main triggers for your anxiety and work on concrete skills to help you achieve more peace in life.
