About My Clients
None of us escape this life without suffering or painful experiences. Our real internal work is to face our pain, befriend ourselves, and find a path in life that brings us meaning and joy ― not despite our experience, but through our experience. Our pain and suffering show up in so many ways: oppressive experiences, trauma, social injustice, vicarious trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, grief, self-hatred, etc, etc. I deeply believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to bring healing.
My Background and Approach
I have over 13 years of experience working in mental health. I am trained in various approaches and primarily use Internal Family Systems. I am experienced in the treatment of grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, addictions, eating issues, self-harming behaviors, caregiver burden, death/dying and adjustment to chronic/terminal illness. My desire is to partner with you to find healing and to provide a safe space to grow into the wholehearted person you long to be. My hope is to meet you right where you are in life and to create a safe space for growth. A place where you can make the changes you want, to live the life you hope for.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in being a wounded healer as I am on my own healing journey. I have been in therapy for years and will continue to do my own work to grow. I cannot go somewhere with you that I have not been myself. I deeply believe in the possibility of growth and change as I have grown and changed through my darkest areas as well. I am allied with the LGBTQIA+ community and fluid myself. I do not believe in pathologizing our human experience but rather befriending our experience to find healing. I value anti-racism, capitalism and feminism.
