About My Clients
I specialize in adolescents and young adults suffering from trauma, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD. I also have a special interest in helping veterinary professionals with the mental health challenges they face due to their stressful work. I work with a therapy dog who helps my patients to feel safe and comfortable, and many of my patients are animal lovers.
My Background and Approach
My style is compassionate, nonjudgmental, warm, patient-centered, and therapy-oriented. When prescribing medication I practice based on the latest scientific evidence, so that my patients have the highest chance of meeting their mental health goals without unnecessary side effects. I connect especially well with teens and young adults. I take my time to understand the whole person, including their goals, values, culture, development, and family system. As a result, I am able to provide a level of personalized care that goes beyond the typical "one-size-fits-all" approach of larger healthcare organizations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am inspired by people who have survived trauma and adversity and choose to take steps to move forward. I believe in the power of the human-animal connection in promoting emotional wellbeing. I spend most of my leisure time doing dog-related activities.
