Trauma, grief, and negative body image lead to emotional wounds that can negatively impact our perceptions of our selves; our relationships with others; and our ability to show up authentically in the world. We may be high-functioning in many areas of life but emotional wounding can impact us on a subconscious level. By healing emotional wounds, you can find greater self-acceptance, self-compassion, and more confidence in being who you are!
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, I take a holistic approach in my work. I integrate a variety of different therapeutic modalities and tailor my approach to meet each person’s unique needs and circumstances. I believe that everyone has the ability overcome the traumas, limiting self-beliefs, and patterns that keep them feeling so stuck. I'm an EMDR trained therapist with a Health at Every Size perspective. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities to help you break free from the things that have held you back from living your most fulfilling life. I've done extensive training to work with trauma and grief. My therapeutic modalities include parts work (including Internal Family Systems and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), CBT, experiential, somatic, and Depth perspectives. I am located in Lakewood CO for in-person therapy and also provide online therapy throughout Colorado.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Body Image: I believe in a Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective. Negative body-image can deeply impact our life satisfaction. It also comes with its fair share of trauma and grief, which once processed, can lead to a more positive relationship with your body. Grief: We do not heal from grief - we learn to grow with it. Grief is the energy that is left when the love we have has no where to go. Here, you will get to honor that love and hold space for all the emotions that you may try to keep tucked away from others. Grief can also occur when there is a loss of something important to us or when we have a big life change. I want to make sure you know that this is a safe place for you to process this. Trauma: Healing trauma does not mean forgetting, but it does mean that the trauma and the nervous system responses you may have will no longer control you. You deserve to have your power, safety, and freedom back. I would be honored to companion you along your healing journey!
