About My Clients
I have experience working with individuals 18 and older dealing with addiction, depression, PTSD/trauma symptoms, abusive relationships, anxiety, life-transitions, interpersonal communication, anger management, relationships, career difficulties, personality disorders, and grief. I have worked extensively with veterans in regard to PTSD and trauma, as well as, mothers, fathers, the LGBTQIA population, college/graduate students, people dealing with addictions, and lastly, adults on the spectrum.
My Background and Approach
I have had the experience of working in a residential treatment facility and in a community mental health facility for both mental health difficulties and addictions. I believe that everyone has the power to heal and live a life that is meaningful to them. With the right tools and effective treatment, I have seen my past clients live their life the way they have always envisioned. My approach in the therapy room is client-centered, always making sure my client feels comfortable, heard, understood, but challenged as well. I tend to use but am not limited to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Client Centered Therapy as well as any psychoeducation that could benefit the client. I believe our past experiences whether this is childhood, teenage years, or adulthood can greatly impact our life and that the definition of “trauma or highly stressful events” varies for each individual.
