About My Clients

Clients who come to me report feeling a change in their mood, like they don't feel like themselves anymore, and like they aren't enjoying things they once used to. They often report feeling like they worry too much, struggle with panic attacks , like they have difficulty relaxing and like they over-analyze and are always in their head. While I specialize in working with anxiety, I also work with clients who struggle with depression, relationship issues, past trauma and life transitions.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic approach is supportive, compassionate and interactive. I get to know you on an individual level and cater my interventions to your specific needs. I draw from evidenced based approaches including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness based therapies. I have an extra training and specialty in anxiety treatment and management. In therapy we will explore connections between your past and present experiences so you can gain a deeper sense of awareness about yourself, identify problems so you can get to the bottom of why you are feeling the way you area and learn coping skills so you can better manage symptoms and find relief in challenging moments. While my goals for you include addressing your concerns and providing symptom relief, I also feel that therapy can help you to grow and become a better version of yourself so that you are functioning at your full potential.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that finding the right fit in therapy is essential to a good outcome. While specialization and expertise is certainly important in treating mental health concerns, the therapeutic relationship is just as important if not more. I believe strongly in ending the stigma against mental health and social justice. I think there are a lot of misinformed messages out there about mental health and getting help and I believe in challenging these beliefs so we can end the stigma and stop believing unhelpful messages. You are entitled to get help no matter what you are going through. I believe having a good work life balance is essential to mental health and I think it is important to practice what you preach which is why I spend a lot of my free time outdoors and practicing mindfulness. I like to incorporate mindfulness into my professional and private life.
