My background and education include experiences in schools, hospitals, outpatient facilities., and private practice. I am client centered in theoretical orientation in addition to providing CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) strategies and skills. Acquiring healthy coping skills is incorporated in treatment to improve insight and decrease symptoms. Focusing on emotion regulation, effective communication, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and cognitive awareness is highlighted during therapy sessions. The counseling process is a partnership involving collaboration, respect, and validation.
