About My Clients

If you are tired of trying so hard, unsure of how to cope, or have a sense of being stuck in the same old patterns, this is a space for you. I specialize in helping adults with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and LGBTQIA+ concerns. I work with folks ready to look directly at themselves and transform their relationship to their pain. While I've centered and tailored most of my work with the queer and transgender community, I strive to create an affirmative space for all.

My Background and Approach

You're not broken nor bad. Discovering, recovering, and welcoming your whole self is promoted when we are together. I'm here to help you tap into your courage. As a therapist specialized in contemplative psychotherapy and buddhist psychology, I will guide you through difficult experiences with mindfulness and curiosity. My integrative approach blends Eastern and Western psychology to promote wellness. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate a variety of therapy styles and techniques. These include acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure response prevention (especially for OCD), psycho-education, and parts-work. As a certified clinical trauma professional, I work within a trauma-informed framework. Healing happens in safe connections. My work also emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship between you and I and you and your community. Regardless of the style, expect me to be respectful, honest, kind, and receptive to your feedback.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that every person is fundamentally good and well and that each one of us contains a natural wisdom and dignity. We do not obtain or earn our wellness in this work, but we recover what has been there all along. We do this by learning not to turn away from ourselves and each other. I know this work intimately; my own struggles with anxiety and OCD in my early 20's drew me to delve deep into this work and find a sense of belonging within myself. I acknowledge that emotional suffering can arise from various systems of inequality—individual, familial, cultural, and societal. My role is to guide individuals in cultivating awareness of these systems. Through this awareness, clarity emerges. Although my stance is firmly anti-racist and anti-oppressive, I recognize and value our differences. I actively engage in conversations about power, privilege, bias, and oppression. Please reach out if you feel I may be a good fit for your needs at this time. You may also text or call me!
