About My Clients
First and foremost, I am a human just like my clients. If you are a teen or adult who feels sad, overwhelmed, misunderstood, stuck, or frustrated, I too have been there. I look to connect with clients on a human level, acknowledging that we all hurt and feel deeply. I then help clients by exploring thought patterns, diving into the past, searching for hope/meaning, and utilizing mindfulness and coping skills to become more in touch with their best self that we all have within us.
My Background and Approach
The most important aspect of my approach with clients is to make the therapeutic relationship strong and collaborative. I want to make my clients feel safe, heard, and understood. I join with my clients to see what their needs are and how I can best serve them. Though the basis for my work is client-centered, I utilize interventions from other theories such as Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also leave space, if clients are interested, for mindfulness practices such as deep breathing, yoga, meditation, etc. I aim to help clients find their purpose and this may also lead to exploring spirituality and their higher power. Clients are the experts of their own lives while I have psychological knowledge to help aid them in creating a path that fits their life best.
