About My Clients

I specialize in pairs (couples, parent-teen, family) & individual high-powered therapy. Pairs work is real people feeling disconnected, disrespected, frustrated: How can I love & also hate them sometimes? Why do I want to push them away & also want them closer? Why do I feel lonely when I'm not alone? High-powered therapy is for the "Type A" mind, pace, drive. I know how hard it is to "just..." (...be content; let others handle it; slow down) and the anxiety that connects to uncertainty in life.

My Approach to Helping

Life can be a series of disruptions, joys, hurts, wins & losses. Often when a chapter ends, when an obstacle shows up or when we achieve something that gave us purpose, we find ourselves stuck, anxious, uncertain how to move forward. What do I want now? How am I supposed to know what to do next? Why did this happen? How did I get here? You don't have to face these questions alone. Or face the pain of loss, disappointment, unwanted change. I will join you compassionately, help you understand why you're struggling, remember what tools & strength you have to move through it, and reconnect you to your power, confidence and hope. And when you feel unseen, disrespected, crossing wires or flat-out angry in relationship with a partner, child or family member, I am here with "gentle tough love" to help you rediscover each other, speak openly, listen & create more loving connections at home. You feel because you care - you don't have big emotions about relationships you're indifferent to.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I continue to do the crucial work to recognize and honor my own marginalized identities, as well as to recognize how I experience the world from my places of privilege. What we can see on the outside never reflects the complexity of someone's lived experience, and I always come from a place of humility to allow clients to share their experiences, their identities and truths, rather than making assumptions based on what I know or see. That has happened to me personally too many times - assumptions have been made based on my appearance - and I know how invalidating, small and unseen it feels. I aim to always create space, safety and openness for all of my clients.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
