I experienced a spiritual emergency as a young adult and devoted myself to understanding reality through many world wisdom and mystical traditions. I am an animist and have extensive experiences on Buddhist meditation retreats, studying Judaism and Kabbalah, Hindu tantra, Tai Chi and Taoism, and more. I believe all people need to find their own meaning and purpose in regards to spirituality and I will support you on your path, however it looks.
I have supported countless clients through panic attacks and ongoing struggles with anxiety. I teach skills and tools you can use immediately to ground and resource yourself when feeling anxious.
I have studied and assisted trauma trainings that support clients to gently and safely unpack the many layers of trauma that make living difficult, from initial shock to altered core beliefs about self. I will always go at your pace, only addressing issues when you're ready to address them.
I've been practicing somatic techniques since 2014 and have attended and assisted a 9-month Somatic Soul-Based Trauma Training over the last 2 years.
The interactive, experiential, present-moment nature of Gestalt Therapy has been my guiding framework since I first became a therapist. I've utilized and created my own Gestalt experiments that bring clients into a direct experience of healing in many varied contexts. My supervisor is Joan Rieger, Director the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies.
Having practiced meditation since I first read Siddhartha and The Tao of Pooh when I was 15, I have since sat on numerous meditation retreats and integrate contemplative practices into therapy as is relevant for each client. I like to begin sessions with a guided grounding meditation, and support clients developing their own meditation or awareness practice, even if it's only noticing their breath once a day.
