About My Clients
Many clients that I work with are members of the LGBTQ+ community, both teens and adults. In addition, I am a great fit for adults interested in finding the tools to navigate an increasingly more challenging world. I offer individual services as well as relationship therapy services. My areas of clinical expertise are working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship concerns. I also have extensive experience supporting folks navigating grief and loss.
My Background and Approach
I use Somatic Experiencing and Relational approaches in my work. My approach promotes the mind-body connection, empowering my clients to live an embodied and fulfilled life. In our work together, we will collaborate to move through all that feels stuck or unresolved in your external and internal experiences. Trauma and intense experiences bring us out of the body and towards a lack of presence. Through somatic approaches, we can build a capacity to tolerate activation at a higher level while also allowing unresolved activation to release and no longer take power over you. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all hold the answers within, and sometimes, the answer is presence. I became a therapist through my lived experience as a young queer kid growing up in a deeply challenging world. It was through the safety of the queer community and through mutual resourcing relationships that I was able to find my own healing path and my power. As a social worker, justice and transformation have been critical to my work. I started my career supporting queer unhoused young people access resources and find their own power. I then worked with young people in Chicago that were previously incarcerated access resources and healing through artistic expression. In my therapy practice, I have dedicated my work to building bridges over the barriers faced by those pushed to the margins by society.
