How I Can Help You
Therapy with me will be a place to slow down, take a moment, and share your story with someone who cares. Overall, I believe in a gentle approach. I am here to listen and understand the environment that is shaping your struggles first, so that we can begin to unravel the deeper meaning of what’s going on. I can help you untangle what it is that YOU want and stand up to the outside pressures. I also have many years of experience working with children. I enjoy using play and art therapy techniques with adults and children alike. Non-traditional techniques help to give you a new perspective and some distance from the problems. I see each client I work with as an individual and I know that each person is the expert in their own life. You have everything you need inside of you.
My Values as a Therapist
I know the power our environment has over our mood. As part of the counseling process, I often encourage clients to reflect on their environments both past and present, internal and external, and recognize the impact it has on their mood. While our outside world has an ability to shape our feelings, it is also important to look inward and connect with our bodies. The mind and body are equally affected by stress and I work with clients on finding ways to soothe both.
