About My Clients

Many of us struggle with past trauma, anxiety, feelings of misunderstanding, hopelessness, or just being scared of the future. It is not an easy journey to go alone and can often benefit from having somebody walk with you. If you are someone needing support in managing life's stressors, I am happy to help.

My Background and Approach

I received my Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from ASU in 2019 and my Master's in Social Work specializing in Clinical Practice at UW in 2022. I take an eclectic approach to therapy by utilizing a variety of modalities that I feel may best fit the individual such as including but not limited to Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am also a Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) with my own lived mental health experience. I hold an inclusive framework that includes disability, neurodiversity, racial identity, and queer experience. LGBTQ+ inclusivity to me includes kink, polyamory, sexuality, and all gender expansive identities. I operate from a health at every size (HAES) approach for those of all body types and histories. I value harm reduction rather than abstinence. Therapy to me also includes social justice and addressing systemic issues alongside managing individual concerns.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as a biracial Latine-White nonbinary person. I am originally from Phoenix, AZ and have been a Seattle resident since September 2020. I am a gamer, music lover, and owner of an 11 year old dog named Courage. I have a fairly strong self-care routine both to role model for my clients and to keep myself regulated when providing quality care. The origin of my desire to journey into therapy starts from my own history as a teenager with mental health struggles. Since then, I spent my schooling advocating for the LGBTQ+ community and mental health awareness. Planning pride events and providing education on our community is my wheelhouse. With work, I've spent a little bit of time in most areas of mental health including direct care at group homes, behavioral health care in a psychiatric hospital, interning with a substance use rehab, and mental health case management. Most recently, I have worked in community mental health as both a peer counselor and as a social worker/therapist.
