About My Clients
I specialize in working with adults who experienced difficult childhoods: emotionally immature parents, abuse and/or neglect, parental substance use or mental health issues, military brats. Growing up with instability, chaos, being in a family with intergenerational trauma. I also work with teens and adults who are dealing with the stress, anxiety, and depression of being human in this overwhelming world.
My Background and Approach
I utilize an integrated approach informed by Mindfulness, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems. I have lived experience, training, and professional experience that make me a qualified counselor for parents, LGTBQ+, Neurodivergent, and polyamorous people. I practice culturally humble, anti-oppression psychotherapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all contain inner wisdom, an authentic self that provides us with guidance and choice. It's common to lose our connection to that self in the day-to-day expectations of being human. I am here to collaborate with you and provide safety, non-judgement, and new tools for your healing journey and reconnection with your authentic self. I am a cisgender white female working on decolonizing my mind. I am part of GenX, and grew up a military brat who lived in several European countries during the Cold War. I am a parent, spiritual, neurodivergent, pansexual, and polyamorous. My special interests are the intersections of psychology, history, sociology, and spiritual practices.
