About My Clients
Whether you're facing interpersonal challenges at school or work, struggling with organization and time management, experiencing low self-esteem, dealing with past traumatic experiences, or experiencing general emotional distress, I’d like to help. My general approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, evidenced-based, and humorous.
My Background and Approach
I've spent my career working with children, teens, and adults facing emotional and behavioral issues. I'm nationally certified in TF-CBT for treating trauma in children and teens. For adults, I use Written Exposure Therapy for trauma symptoms. I also utilize CBT to address depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other behavioral and emotional problems.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I maintain a clear separation between therapy and religion, believing that the therapeutic space should remain neutral and free from any specific belief system. While I respect and acknowledge the importance of spirituality for some individuals, my role is to support clients in achieving their self-defined therapy goals, not to guide or influence their religious beliefs. Religion may only become part of the therapeutic conversation if it directly impacts the client's well-being or goals, such as a desire to return to church if anxiety were not a barrier. This approach fosters a safe and empowering environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment, ultimately promoting self-discovery and personal growth.
