Hello! I have openings in my counseling practice, so please do not hesitate to reach out. Online or phone sessions are my current focus.
Psychotherapist in Boulder, CO
There are so many kinds of change and loss that we can experience, including but not limited to big life transitions, moving or losing a home, starting or ending an important relationship, the death of a loved one, career changes, illness, and more. Adjustment is non-linear process, and having support can make a huge difference.
I am a queer therapist with lived experience as a queer person, and training/experience providing LGBTQ2AI+ affirming counseling. Are you coming out? Discovering new dimensions to your sexual orientation or gender identity? Struggling and in need of support as you navigate in cisheteropatriarchal society? I’d love to hear from you.
Trauma Support and Recovery: Trauma is an experience that anyone can have, and everyone's experience is different. Trauma is caused by many things, including the effects injustice while living in systems of oppression. Experiences can leave us afraid, exhausted or even too energized, depressed, burnt out, and more. Recovery is possible, and counseling can be a powerful way to move toward healing.
The AEDP approach focuses on trauma healing through our relationship as counselor and client. I attend to how the relationship feels to you, and welcome your feedback.
I work from a social justice lens that is culturally sensitive, affirms your identities, and centers liberation.
In addition to talking about concerns together, I may also invite you to notice your body sensations in the present moment. Somatic approaches are based in neuroscience and proven to help heal trauma.
