About My Clients

My Background and Approach
I have a background in education and have spent over six years working with families and children. I am passionate about removing the stigma of mental health and teaching people skills to help them face the challenges of life with confidence. I believe that community and connection is at the core of what it means to be human and healing comes from feeling valued, heard and understood. Because we are all unique I partner with clients to use a variety of modalities including ACT, DBT, CBT, Narrative therapy and Existential Therapy. At the core of my approach is active listening and empathetic curiosity. I seek to partner with my clients to discover what barriers are preventing them from having mental wellness. My aim is to collaborate with clients to remove barriers, process through trauma/difficult emotions and create a plan for wellness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that each person has deep value based on who they are regardless of what role they play in society. Accepting diversity and seeking to understand each other and connect is what drives me. I have been involved in serving overseas to stop human trafficking and empower women, children and families to live healthy and happy lives regardless of their socioeconomic status. I also believe in the healing power of animal companionship and volunteer within my community to rescue dogs and cats and connect them to loving homes.
