Whether we focus on increasing present day coping skills for anxiety and PTSD symptoms or processing trauma, you are in control of what we talk about and the speed we work through memories. You have resilience inside you and have the innate ability to heal from trauma. I see myself as joining with my clients on their journey of deconstructing negative beliefs, assessing relational patterns and coping skills that don't work anymore.
As well as providing trauma-informed, relational psychodynamic therapy, I am trained in SAFE EMDR, an effective therapy for PTSD. SAFE EMDR is effective for both childhood traumas, attachment wounds, as well as recent traumas. The version of EMDR I am trained in focuses on attachment traumas and how the body remembers trauma in the form of body memory. EMDR is beneficial for interpersonal violence, car accidents, or first responder experiences.
