About My Clients
You want to feel centered and confident as you, but instead you feel...distracted from your life, overwhelmed by intense emotions, exhausted by spending you energy on others, beat down by the voice of your inner critic “ you’re a failure…,” “you should have this figured out by now…!” terrified of other’s judgements , and paralyzed by the question “what do you need?!" I can help you settle your emotions and learn from them to guide healing, set boundaries, & build secure relationships.
My Background and Approach
My approach integrates somatic therapy, or emotion and body focused therapy, which is based on research that shows that checking in with the felt sense actually impacts internal change. I also believe that the healing experiences within the therapeutic relationship can help with rewire us to experience more safety and joy: leading to less anxiety and actually changing beliefs, such as not being good enough or not being able to do enough. I offer tools to learn how to: -embrace the spectrum of emotions and not be afraid of them -learn to find and trust your inner voice and stand firm in what it thinks and feels -set realistic expectations for yourself and others -learn your limits and how to share them with others -open up to vulnerability -Heal from past trauma, relational trauma, and emotional wounds -Feel empowered to change relationships, even family relationships, that drain you or cause you to stress, get overwhelmed, or shutdown
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the quality of our relationships, both early in our life and currently, impacts our mental health. Keeping a relational focus guides my work around anxiety and depression. I believe in neuroplasticity and the brain's innate capacity to heal and thrive! I practice self compassion everyday as a therapist, mom, and fellow human.
